This session was all about a discussing and analyzing the movies that were given our time era was 1930-1940.We had a discussion about our individually watched movies everyone discussed about their reflections and shared the concepts themes according it .

Miss Frontier Mail

I watched the “Miss frontier mail” 1936 , We all had to make observations while watching the movie, the opening starts with a 8 minute silent scenes which stood out form in the movie as it was era where the cinema had just discovered the sounds and music.

• Romance: Is minor not the focus
• a silent movie, starting off with only music and no dialogue
• the camera whirring sounds
• title pages are interspersed

• acting is exaggerated
• Costumes: saris jodhpurs, Gym clothes, riding boots, blouses with frilly puffed sleeves, bindis, berets
• go-getter female
• Villains: evil laugh every time. silly bandit mask and chain-smoking

We later tried bringing out the common links between all the movies in the era and had a list of common themes and concepts .

Setting-Society not being that progressive, social issues prevailing in the country at that period of time.

Music-expressing their emotions mostly through songs
Mythological theme is the fight between good and evil
