Coaster Design
1. The class began with submission of the coaster we all created. In order to create the beige spider coaster, We used engraving machine do etching . Since the design was very fine, craving was difficult. The design of the coaster needed support i.e why added another round MDF and joined them with a nail. This can also be used as a lid as well.
2. In order to create the pink coaster, we used the engraving machine with thicker drill to create big holes. I wanted to create abstract shapes. We finally, used round file, square file, and flat file, to create these see through shapes. For the outer part of the coaster, We created a outer step of 10mm diameter , this gave he coaster an edgy look.
Line the Grip
We were given a presentation that, showed gesture grip sketches. We were told to note down all the things we grab in our day eg; chair, toothbrush. door handle. pen etc. There are different movements involved by different parts of the hand for each grip, like hands, wrists, joints, surface area, volume. The number of joints allow restrains in movement.
We all then created 6 sketches of grip sketches of a position from 6 angles.
